Book Club Discussion Guide:

We haven’t decided on any specific discussion points but here is a short guide you can use for support:

  1. Pip as protagonist – Is she relatable? How does she compare to other classic and modern fictional detectives?
  2. Technology & social media – Pip uses Facebook to uncover secrets. Could she have solved the case without modern tools?
  3. Prejudice & small-town gossip – How does bias shape the town’s view of Sal?
  4. True crime appeal – Why do young readers gravitate toward thrillers mixing everyday life with crime?
  5. Andie’s complexity – Victim and perpetrator at once. Were sensitive topics handled respectfully?
  6. Plot twists – Which reveals shocked you? Which red herrings misled you?
  7. Story structure – Any unnecessary parts or underdeveloped characters? What would you change?
  8. Series & adaptation – Will you read the sequels or watch the Netflix series?
  9. Favorite quotes – Share lines that stood out to you.
  10. Ratings – How would you score the book (overall or by language, plot, themes)?
  11. BookTok & recommendations – What other titles fit the BookTok vibe?
